Audition Notice: Soprano Openings

Renaissance Voices, directed by G. Kevin Dewey, has one opening for Soprano 1 and one opening for Soprano 2 for the Winter 2022 semester.

A clear, in-tune, blending voice, with optional solo qualities as well, is most desirable; good music reading skills are ideal, but just as important is the dedication to learn parts quickly and accurately with respect to pitch, rhythm, and pronunciation.

The twenty women of Renaissance Voices come from a variety of musical backgrounds, but all are experienced choral singers. Renaissance Voices began over 25 years ago as a madrigal group, but now performs the finest in treble choral literature, mostly a cappella, in a variety of styles and languages, and from all eras.

Rehearsals are 7-9:35 p.m. Tuesday evenings at Henry Ford College in Dearborn. Performances include the HFC President’s Collage Concert on April 27 and the Renaissance Voices Alumnae Concert on June 5. In addition, all of the HFC performing groups will be rehearsing and recording in the state-of-the-art HFC Recording Studio and will be part of a new studio album!

Auditions will take place January 10 - January 16.

Interested choristers are invited to contact director G. Kevin Dewey as soon as possible at kdewey@hfcc.edu.
